Central Texas Food Bank Food Distributes Meals to Manor Town Residents

Manor, TX - With freezing temperatures expected over the next few days, the Housing Authority of Travis County (HATC) is working to ensure our senior residents stay warm, hydrated, and fed.

Earlier today, the Central Texas Food Bank provided critical support to the senior residents at Manor Town Apartments, one of HATC's affordable housing communities. Their team of volunteers assisted our staff in distributing shelf-stable food, frozen microwavable meals, and bottled water to every resident.

‍

"I'm very thankful we have their support and will continue having their support to be able to provide future assistance to our residents," said Carlos Guzman, HATC's Director of Affordable Housing Programs.

During extreme weather events, our low-income senior residents are among the most vulnerable. HATC is committed to leveraging partnerships like the one with Central Texas Food Bank to meet their immediate needs. We know our residents are in good hands thanks to the hard work of our staff and volunteers from community organizations.

Together, we will weather this cold snap and continue working year-round to provide affordable housing and compassionate care to seniors in need. For more information, visit the Central Texas Food Bank at centraltexasfoodbank.org.
