The Housing Authority of Travis County Board Commissioners Host Its Very First Community Connection Fair on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Its Administrative Offices Located Across from Austin Community College – Highland Campus.

Despite the slight precipitation and overcast skies, seventeen (17) community partners participated in this first-time event. Such vendors include Goodwill Industries, Austin-Travis County Health and Human Services, WIC, Austin Community College, and host of others.

With the goal of connecting Housing Authority tenants and program participants with resources out in the community available to them, this 3-hour event provided offered information on a myriad of free or discounted programs and services. There were also health screenings being conducted.

“We couldn’t be happier about the level of participation from our community partners at this event,” exclaimed Christina Montes, Director of Voucher Programs and Homeless Initiatives for the Housing Authority. “This was our pilot – based on the positive feedback we received, we plan on hosting this type of event yearly.”

HATC embraces the mission of “Preserving and Developing Affordable Housing and Vibrant Communities to Enhance the Quality of Life for All.” For more information, visit www.hatctx.com or find us on Facebook.
