Travis County, TX — The Housing Authority of Travis County (HATC) sponsored four HATC high school seniors to attend the 2024 Black College Expo that took place on October 26th in Houston, Texas. This event serves as a vital platform for high school students and prospective college attendees to connect with historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), explore educational opportunities, and enhance their future career paths.
The Black College Expo is designed to empower students by providing access to scholarships, admissions opportunities, and valuable resources that can help them navigate the college application process. HATC recognizes the importance of education and is committed to supporting our clients in their academic pursuits.
“We believe that education is a powerful tool for change,” said Patrick Howard, CEO at HATC. “By facilitating our clients’ attendance at the Black College Expo, we are providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed in their educational journeys.”
The 2024 Black College Expo featured college representatives from various HBCUs, workshops on financial aid and scholarships, and networking opportunities with professionals and educators. This year's expo promised to be an inspiring event for all attendees.
