Housing Authority of Travis County Opens Multifamily Waitinglist

The Housing Authority of Travis County (HATC) will open its multifamily (formerly public housing) waiting list on March 23, 2020 at 8 a.m. and close on March 28, 2020 at 5 p.m.

The application process is completely online at www.hatctx.com but the housing agency will provide computer assistance from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 502 E. Highland Mall Blvd., Ste. 106-B, Austin, TX. 78752 during the open application period.

In order to apply for the waiting list, an applicant must have a current email address or phone number to complete the preliminary application. Additionally, the applicant must be prepared to provide the full names, social security numbers, birth dates, and income information for all household members.

To qualify for the housing program, all applicants must meet U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 2019 income guidelines outlined in the table below. Income guidelines are current but are subject to change. Additionally, the applicant household must meet the following criteria:

  1. The head-of-household must be an adult 18 years of age or older, or a legally emancipated minor; and
  2. At least one person in the household must be an eligible citizen or an eligible non-citizen; and
  3. The total household income must meet the HUD guideline income limit.

Persons requiring special accommodations or assistance to complete the application should contact Director of Affordable Housing Programs Barry Hall at (512) 854-1887 with any requests. Persons with hearing impairments should call TTY Relay Texas at 1-800-735-2989.
